The Tech Lounge Retires Lo-Call Number to Cut Caller’s Costs
Confusion over tariff charges and growing mobile phone usage results in a return to the original number.
Basingstoke, UK, October 2013 – Professional IT support and strategy experts, The Tech Lounge Limited, are pleased to announce the withdrawal of their 0845 689 0456 number, reverting to the standard geographic number 01256 636214. The decision was taken to provide much more transparent pricing and save clients from high mobile phone charges.
Chaotic and inconsistent pricing of numbers makes it difficult for consumers to manage call costs. Until tariffs are simplified and fully integrate inclusive minutes through mobile providers, many companies review and change their contact numbers.
Mark Dalton, Managing Director, states, “When I founded The Tech Lounge, I wanted to ensure that clients and prospects could contact us in as many ways as possible and with minimal cost. At that time, it was standard practice to use Lo-Call 0845 numbers to facilitate this aim as they offer local call rates from landlines no matter where in the country you were calling from. However, times change, and more and more customers now call us from their mobile phones, which unfortunately do not benefit from the same local call rates.”
“Considering that very few enquiries were coming from landline numbers, along with the fact that 0845 numbers are still chargeable, albeit, at a local rate, it made perfect sense to revert. Our priority is to offer clear and honest pricing for solid and reliable IT support, strategy, maintenance and advice. We’re also accountable for continually reviewing and eliminating unnecessary costs.”
In January 2014, The Tech Lounge will celebrate 2 years of supporting and maintaining the IT needs of businesses in and around Hampshire. Reviewing pricing and related costs for clients will remain an absolute priority.
